GREENVILLE, S.C. (WACH / AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley visits Greenville Thursday morning, as she tours South Carolina's northwest corner. She is visiting the Gateway House there to bestow a Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award.
Gov. Haley plans to continue on the Laurens County where she will speak at the Chamber of Commerce's Red Carpet Speaking Luncheon.
After that event, the governor plans to visit ZF Transmissions in Gray Court where she'll speak with reporters about the company's plans to grow its Laurens County facility. The Germany-based company announced in September it will add 300 jobs. South Carolina competed with more than a dozen states for the operation that will make rear-wheel drive 8-speed automatic transmissions for Chrysler Group LLC.
