COLUMBIA (WACH) - Another nearly naked man sighting in the Shandon area has been reported to the Columbia Police Department.

Authorities say  two women were walking South on Walker Street Saturday, July 7 around 8:30 a.m. When they approached Heyward Street, one of the women saw a man standing with his shorts at his ankles fondling himself. The woman who saw the man told the other woman what she saw after continuing to walk for about a block.

The police report states the women ran back to where the man was last seen. When the man saw the women returning, he ran North on Walker Street with his face covered and left in a white SUV. The license plate information, make or model of the vehicle is currently unknown.

According to a spokesperson with the department, the girls called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

The case has been assigned to the Special Victims Unit.

Similar cases were reported to police in December 2011 and January 2012, but officers are not able to determine if the incidents are related.
