LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) - A Lexington teen accused of breaking into three unlocked cars and taking items from the vehicles was arrested last Friday.

Sheriff James R. Metts says deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff's DepartmentĀ arrested Jake Alexander Micol, 17, around 2 a.m. on June 29.

According to Metts, an arrest warrant alleges that on June 29 Micol took a Magellan Global Positioning System (GPS) from one unlocked sedan, a green visor and a pair of sunglasses from a second unlocked sedan and prescription medication and a pair of women's shoes from a third unlocked sedan. All of the vehicles were parked outside homes on Sharebrook Lane near Irmo.

The police report states that a witness who lives on Sharebrook Lane reported the incidents along with a description of the suspects vehicle, including the car's license plate, to the Lexington County Communications Center. A deputy found the Nissan Altima that matched the description provided by the witness parked near a home in Lexington.

Authorities say the stolen items were later recovered in the Nissan Altima that Micol was driving.

Micol was released from the Lexington County Detention Center Monday after posting bail totaling $15,000.
