ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) – Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has released the arrest of a man who shot his girlfriend multiple times early Saturday morning.

According to Sheriff Ravenell the investigation shows Jeffrey Niko Grimes of Orangeburg entered the bathroom where his girlfriend was preparing to shower, he then shot her until the gun was empty.

Sheriff Ravenell said after the 47 year old victim was shot , she then fled the house to seek help from a neighbor who took her to the hospital.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery. Sheriff Ravenell said Grimes was at the residence when officers arrived to the scene.

“This is an extremely grave incident that fortunately ended with the victim surviving this terrible ordeal. Our office will be seeking the maximum charges to protect the community from this dangerous individual,” said Sheriff Ravenell.
