Deputies arrest suspected boat house burglars

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) - The Lexington County Sheriff's Department arrested two men in connection with a house boat burglary on Wednesday.
Sheriff James R. Metts says deputies arrested Shane Alexander Hurley, 22, of Gilbert and Lee Thomas Johnson 32, of Lexington on a charge of first-degree burglary.
Hurley and Johnson are accused of breaking into the house boat and stealing one Boss stereo unit, one Century battery charger, one air compressor, one toaster oven, and one trolling motor.
According to the department, deputies received information of a break in at a house boat that was docked on Lake Murray around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday before obtaining arrest warrants for Hurley and Johnson.
Metts says Hurley was arrested around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday and Johnson was arrested around 12 p.m. Wednesday.
Both men were being held at the Lexington County Detention Center without bond on Thursday, according to officials.
