BLYTHEWOOD, SC (WACH) -- According to the Columbia-Richland Fire Department lightning sparked a house fire in Blythewood Thursday afternoon as storms moved through the Midlands.

The house, on North Firetower Road, sustained about $50,000 in damages. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
