COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The chairman of the Democratic National Convention is speaking to the party faithful in South Carolina.

Convention CEO Steve Kerrigan is delivering the keynote address Saturday at the 2012 South Carolina Democratic Convention.

At the gathering, South Carolina Democrats will elect 62 delegates to the national convention.

The convention is scheduled for Charlotte, N.C., in early September.
