COLUMBIA, SC -- Decker Boulevard is making a comeback according to Richland County leaders.
Officials along with business owners unveiled a revitalized area on northeast Columbia Tuesday. They are working hard to keep the area, known for its international corridor, thriving after an economic slowdown.
Many businesses have chosen to stay and are now reaping the benefits. They have all received a grant facade of $10,000 per business for improvements.
26 lights were also installed last summer to improve lighting conditions.
County Councilmember Jim Manning said its been a process that began six years ago, and that it is a great area for business.
"There have been a lot of people that are doing a lot of things to bring Decker Boulevard back to its heyday. The revitalization efforts to make it better are continuing to go on and on."
The international corridor features various stores and restaurants from all over the world.
