Here is your Good Day Columbia GDC Morning WACH for 3-13-12:
As the world learns more of the bruital attack and killing of 16 Afghan’s at the hands of a U.S. soldier, we examined the impact that Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is having, not only on our troops, but anyone who has faced a life changing incident.
According to winoverptsd.com, 70 percent of Americans have experienced a traunmatic event, leaving 20 percent, or 31.3 million people, developing P.T.S.D.
There are several online resources for information about the affliction, including:
As part of our in-depth look into PTSD, psychiatrist Gariane Gunter joined us for a medial look. You can check out her time HERE.
As part of our ongoing Back To Work series, Job Readiness expert Lori Cook from the Richland County Public Library joined us to talk about jobs in finance. She told us that there is a rosy outlook for accountants and other aspects, however, banking can boast only an average growth. Want to see what else she had to say? Check it out HERE.
As always, GDC is looking for your input! Please send story ideas, if you are in looking for exposure for a community event you are involved with, or would like a cast member to speak at your civic group, school, or activity, EMAIL us! We are part of the community!!
