CAMDEN, S.C. (WACH) - A family friendly St. Patrick's Day celebration will be held in Camden Saturday afternoon.
The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in partnership with the City of Camden is hosting St. Patrick's Day on the Town Green on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
The free event is open to the public and will have fun activities and entertainment for the entire family.
"We are excited to offer a family friendly day on the Town Green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and are pleased to partner with the Fine Arts Center on presenting this event. There promises to be great entertainment and fun for all ages," said Camden Mayor Jeffrey Graham.
Sarah Dippity will make an appearance with face painting and a little street magic. There will be an area for children to participate in sidewalk chalk art, as well as a big bubble blowing area and carnival games.
Musical entertainment for the day will include The Camden Middle School Jazz Band, The Mobros, 2011 Kershaw County's Got Talent finalists, and a closing performance by Josh McCaa.
Miss Camden, Carley Powers, and Miss Camden Teen, Morgan Schoolfield, will also be on hand to help with the event.
"This new family friendly event is designed to showcase the younger side of Kershaw County talent and the flow of the entertainment should appeal to all ages," said Dan Riddick, technical director for the event.
