AIKEN, S.C. (WACH, AP) - An Aiken man died early Monday morning after being shot while sitting inside a vehicle in Hahn Village.

Investigators with the Aiken Department of Public Safety said a friend who had just left the car to go inside an apartment heard a gunshot around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and found 19-year-old Moses Williams shot in the head.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, Williams was transported to Aiken Regional Medical Center by his girlfriend. He was pronounced dead at 1:26 a.m.

Based on current information, Williams' death is to be ruled a homicide.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating the crime.
