COLUMBIA (WACH)--Columbia officials are painting the city red in honor of the American Heart Associations 9th annual National Wear Red Day.
City officials invite elected officials, business leaders, and neighborhood leaders to participate in a National Wear Red Day photo opportunity.
The event will take place on Friday, February 3 at 1:00pm in City Council Chambers located at 1737 Main Street, 3rd Floor.
Councilwoman Tameika Isaac Devine asks those interested in participating in this years photo op to wear red ties, red dresses or blouses.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women in our country. More women die of heart disease than all forms of cancer combined.
