COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Benedict College reached a historic milestone Friday.
The university signed an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support greening and sustainability on campus.
As part of the agreement, the EPA aims to help enhance the school's Environmental policy and science curricula. It also means more jobs and internships will be available for students pursuing Environmental careers.
School President Dr. David Swinton said it will pay off.
"It will give us more opportunities to participate in research. It will give us more opportunities to seek the kind of funding and the kind of programs that we are trying to develop in our Environmental health science program and our Environmental engineering program."
