Good morning friends!
Here is your GDC Morning WACH for Tuesday 1-17-12:
The Historic Columbia Foundation is offering "Behind The Scenes" tours celebrating their 50th anniversary, including a tour of the Dunbar Funeral Home, and the Arcade Mall on Main Street. Information about the tours and the foundation can be found HERE, or by calling Laura Otero, 803.586.3890.
It is Restaurant Week in South Carolina, where over 200 restaurants celebrate with dinner specials as they celebrate the culinary scene across the state. Restaurant Week includes 48 restaurants in the Midlands, offering multi-course meals all at a discount price. For information on Restaurant Week and the deals that are offered, click HERE.
In our Back To Work series, Job Readiness trainer Lori Cook talks about resume tips and job training skills, and starting next week, will offer the top 3 Midlands employers. Join us every Tuesday morning at 8:10, as we help people get back to work. Information on the RCPL Job Center can be found HERE.
You can catch Lori's tips on resumes HERE.
In what will prove to be an interesting case out of Texas, a 14-year-old girl is at odds with her family about the fact that she is pregnant. Her family wants her to get an aborition, she does not. At this point, a judge has stepped in, at least in the short term, to examine who can make this decision, and how Roe v. Wade plays into the whole mix. The conversation is on our Facebook page, you can find HERE, and of course, the GDC Cast examined the entire case, which you can watch HERE.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson joined Fraendy Clervaud in the studio to talk about MLK, civil rights, and his own run for the Oval Office. Check out Rev. Jackson's GDC appearance HERE.
