Haley places bowl wagers

Governor Nikki Haley today placed friendly wagers with her colleagues in West Virginia and Nebraska on both bowl games.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – In what's become an annual tradition for Governor Nikki Haley's administration, the governor has placed her friendly wagers with the repsective governors of South Carolina and Clemson's Bowl opponents.

Haley placed Lowcountry Shrimp and Grits on the line for Governors Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia and Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman. The Mountaineers play Haley's alma mater, Clemson in the Orange Bowl January, 4.Tomblin placed a basket of goodies representing West Virginia’s unique heritage and talents on the line.

As for South Carolina's opponent, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Heineman raised the stakes to Nebraska's famous Omaha Steaks.

The Discover Orange Bowl is scheduled for 8:00 PM EST on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Miami, Florida. The Capital One Bowl will be played on Monday, January 2, 2012 in Orlando, Florida at 1:00 PM EST.
