CAMDEN (WACH) - Surveillance video shows two suspects walking into the Holiday Inn Express off Sumter Highway in Camden in broad daylight on November 9th. The men head right for the snack machines, but instead of cold drinks, its cold cash they are after.
One of the thieves breaks into the machines while the other plays lookout.
"There was a white man, wearing a cap, a little heavy set, with a white t-shirt," said a hotel employee. "There was another gentleman, a black man, wearing an orange t-shirt."
The employee, who chose to remain anonymous, said she saw the suspects leave the hotel as she began her shift.
The men also vandalized vending machines at another hotel across the street. Surveillance cameras there caught the men making off with a wad of cash and a dollar changer from the machines.
The hotel owner telling WACH Fox off camera the suspects did more than a thousand dollars in damages to the machines, which could take months to fix.
The company that owns the machines and the employees paying the ultimate price.
"Anytime this happens, it knocks the money down to where we don't get raises if he's fixing the equipment," said the employee.
WACH-Fox tried to contact the Camden Police department for an interview and to get more information on the men; but we have yet to hear back.
The owner of both hotels is offering a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest.
