COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- This Halloween might be a good year to dress up as Chewbacca. Or anyone else with his own fur coat.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a chilly night for trick-or-treaters across much of South Carolina. In the Midlands, the SkyWACH weather team expects temperatures to dip to about 35 Monday night.

It won't be much warmer in the Upstate, although cloudy skies early in the evening should clear up fairly shortly.

The weather service is forecasting a warmer night in Charleston and along the coast, with temperatures only falling into the mid 40s.

Although it might be on the chilly side, there is good news for trick-or-treaters: weather service forecasters say it should be a dry night, without any significant chance of rain.
