USC moves up in college football polls

The latest college football rankings are out, and the Carolina Gamecocks are up in both major polls.

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The latest college football rankings are out, and the Carolina Gamecocks are up in both major polls.

USC jumped three notches in the Associated Press poll to number 15 in the country. In the USA Today/Coaches poll, USC moved up one slot to number 13.

The Gamecocks are coming off a big 54-3 win over the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday with sophomore Connor Shaw at starting quarterback.

Next weekend, USC heads to Starkville to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The game is scheduled to start at 12:21 p.m.

The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields Monday night at 7 p.m.
