Columbia (WACH) -- The ClubCorp Charity Classic was held at the Capital City Club Friday evening.
Having fun isn’t the event’s only goal, so is raising money. It’s a celebration of the Midland’s cultural diversity and southern traditions. Attendees enjoyed great food, live music and also participated in auctions raise money for three well know charities.
The money will be split between the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ClubCorp’s Employee Partners Care Foundation and the Special Olympics of South Carolina.
“Membership to the club is all about building relationships and enriching lives and if we didn't do these kinds of things we really wouldn't be representing what our purpose statement is,” said Sean McLaughlin, general manager of The Capital City Club.
Last year, the ClubCorp Charity Classic raised more than $1.6 million for the charities it helps.
