Man gets life sentence for killing Columbia pastor

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a Columbia pastor more than two years ago.

Forty-five-year-old Frankie Lee McGee was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday after a Richland County jury convicted him of murder.

Eighty-seven-year-old Rev. Tyron Eichelberger was beaten at his home May 3, 2009, and died about three months later.

McGee was arrested in March 2010 after investigators found DNA on socks the killer wore as gloves during the beating.

Prosecutor Dan Johnson says McGee had gone to Eichelberger for money and beat him.
