Two more arrested after Bull St. drug bust

COLUMBIA (WACH) – Two additional suspects involved in a Columbia drug bust late last week have been arrested.

Columbia police officials say 19-year-old Justin Owings and 20-year-old William Newell turned themselves in Tuesday morning after being wanted for the incident that resulted in one arrest.

Owings and Newell are charged with intent to distribute marijuana near a school and possession with intent to distribute hashish.  They are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Court documents show that these charges against Newell were dropped in 2012.

Officials seized drugs, weapons and cash from a residence located at 219 South Bull Street last Friday.

Members of the department’s Drug Suppression Team received a tip through CrimeStoppers and executed a search warrant at the house on Thursday.

Roland Maurer, 20, was arrested and is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after authorities found three pounds of marijuana, several weapons and more than $16,000 in cash.
