COLUMBIA (AP) -- A Columbia woman has pleaded guilty to taking more than $330,000 from the South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon and Parole.
U.S. Attorney William Nettles said 31-year-old Crystal Dawn Bric pleaded guilty to bank fraud in federal court on Wednesday.
Nettles says Bric was living in at a Corrections Department halfway house when she began using an agency bank account to pay her rent, utilities and other expenses.
Bric's plea says she opened credit card accounts with friends' Social Security numbers and paid bills with state funds between 2007 and 2009.
She faces up to 30 years in prison and fined $1 million when she is sentenced.
The loss of money was discovered during a 2009 audit.
