COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Officials in Myrtle Beach arrested a suspect wanted in a pair of Midlands armed robberies Tuesday.

Forty-two-year-old Donald Allen Kelly was wanted for armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and assault in crimes police say were committed in both the city of Columbia and Forest Acres earlier this month.

Columbia investigators say Kelly broke into a home on Kathwood Drive, showed a knife and demanded money.  They say Kelly took an undisclosed amount of money and got away in an unknown vehicle.

A similar chain of events unfolded in Forest Acres before that.  Authorities say Kelly knocked on the door of a home off Forest Drive around 8 p.m. asking for help.

Investigators say the person who answered door went with Kelly in his truck.  Kelly pulled a knife on the victim and demanded to go to the ATM where money could be withdrawn.  The victim was able to get away.

Kelly is currently being held at the Myrtle Beach Police Department Jail.  After bond is set, officials say he will be transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County.
