MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Another big-name Republican is coming to South Carolina but this time it's not for politics.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports John McCain will visit Myrtle Beach this weekend to serve as the grand marshal for the city's Military Appreciation Days parade as the Memorial Day weekend gets under way.
The former GOP presidential nominee joins U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and state Adjutant General Bob Livingston for a military tribute concert Friday evening featuring military bands and country music.
It's the second year the resort has held Military Appreciation Days as a kickoff to its annual Sun Fun Festival marking the start of the summer season.
McCain said that he doesn't play golf, but he does plans to find a good barbecue restaurant in Myrtle Beach.
