COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is kicking-off the "Buckle Up South Carolina. It's the law. And it's enforced." safety belt education and enforcement campaign.

The state campaign corresponds to the national "Click It or Ticket" mobilization and will run May 23-June 5.

Part of the mission of the campaign is to draw attention to traffic deaths in South Carolina caused by drivers not wearing safety belts. Organizers plan to illustrate the life-saving potential of wearing safety belts.
