COLUMBIA (WACH) -- USC outfielder and designated hitter Jake Williams has been reinstated to the baseball team after being suspended last week.
Williams was indefinitely suspended for violating team rules according to Gamecock officials. Cayce Police say the 21-year-old served alcohol to two underage males at a post-game party at his home on the weekend. Police say he admitted to the offense.
The athletics department announced Wednesday that Williams will travel with the Gamecocks to Starkville, MS for this weekend's series against Mississippi State.
Nineteen-year-old Thomas Moore, Williams' roommate who is not connected to the team, was arrested when Cayce Police found a marijuana growing system made from a refrigerator at the party. In the addition to the drug charges, Moore has also been charged with underage drinking.
