COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Spring has finally sprung in South Carolina!  Sunday night we welcomed spring with open arms when it arrived at 7:21 p.m.

After what has been a harsh and record breaking winter for the Palmetto State, we can look forward to mild temps for the first full week of spring with highs in the 70s and 80s.

While South Carolina is enjoying the pleasant, spring-like weather, other parts of the country will experience snow this week.  From the northern plains through parts of the northeast winter will hang on for another week.

But back here in the Midlands, the seasonal conditions are bringing a dusting of the yellow stuff that comes each year around this time.  Pollen is causing big problems for allergy sufferers and it's not expected to get better.  The next few days will be dry making air quality even worse.
