COLUMBIA (WACH) -- In honor of American Hearth Month, Palmetto Health's Community Services Office is offering free health screenings this week.

The event is Tuesday at Palmetto Health Baptist on Sumter Street from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on the ground floor.

You can get free cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and other health screenings.

Organizers say if you want to take advantage of these free screenings, you'll need to make an appointment by calling 296-2273.

If you're considering a screening you're asked to fast, only consuming water, for 12 hours.
