WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Fresh off his re-election, U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson is touring his diverse South Carolina district to talk about his priorities for the next session of Congress.

The Republican is visiting West Columbia, Orangeburg and Beaufort on Monday for a series of press conferences to discuss his legislative agenda.

Last month, Wilson was named chair of the military personnel subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. The South Carolina Republican's district includes Fort Jackson and three other military installations.

Wilson attracted national attention and outrage from Democrats when he shouted "You lie" at President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress. He defeated Democrat Rob Miller in a November rematch with the former Marine.
