COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The city of Columbia has attracted another business to North Main Street.

The ribbon was cut Friday at Houston's Low Country Grill, which officially opens its doors to customers on Monday.

The restaurant in the city-financed North Main Shopping Center will service southern favorites like shrimp and grits.

Councilman Sam Davis says the business is a welcomed addition to the area.

"In spite of the economy, there are people willing to make investments out here," says Councilman Sam Davis.  "New families are moving out here so we have got to make sure we have the goods and services to meet their needs."

The Columbia Empowerment Zone Incorporated loaned Houston's $150,000 to get started.

It's the third business to open in the North Main Plaza.
