More than one dozen Midlands salons have pledged donations to to the Hair to Spare Campaign.

The goal is to help with the oil spill clean-up in the Gulf Coast.

The Collins and Lacy Law Firm will collect hair clippings from the salons and ship them to the environmental group Matter of Trust.

From there, the locks will be stuffed into nylon stockings to make booms that surround and contain the oil.
