COLUMBIA -- You might not think it, but spring time can mean extra need at the Red Cross.

As regular donors go on spring vacation and skip their donations, the American Red Cross needs others to step in so their blood supply doesn't get too low.

Red Cross officials say no matter the level of donations they get, the need is always there.
