Friday is the deadline to get your nominations in to become a Google Fiber Optics city.
COLUMBIA -- Columbia City Council has named March 26 as Google Day in the city.
In a bid to try to bring Google's high speed Fiber Optics Internet to the city, the council is asking that residents enter their nominations.
Friday is the deadline and Google says participation is key.
The more nominations, the better chance the city has to receive the test network that would bring a connection that's 100 times faster than average Internet speeds.
That would mean a 30 minute download would only take 18 seconds.
