COLUMBIA -- The Governor's Mansion transformed into The Great Easter Egg Hunt Monday.

Hundreds of children searched the grounds for that treasured Easter egg candy.

The Easter Bunny and Jenny Sanford were on hand for the event celebrating children that have been successfully treated at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.

Jenny Sanford may not be the First Lady any longer, but she says she's glad to be hosting the event.

"I've been honored to serve as First Lady and if I am technically not First Lady right now, there is still an opportunity to do good for organizations like the children's hospital here in town," Sanford explains.  "I certainly saw no reason to disappoint the children."

Jenny Sanford says she'll be on hand for other big, planned events in the coming months.
