Officials recover missing upstate inmate

Franklin Harris was confirmed missing from Livesay Correctional Instituation in Spartanburg earlier Monday.

The inmate who walked away from an upstate minimum security prison has be found and is back in police custody.

Franklin Harris was recovered at 7:30 Monday evening from his mother's home in Union County.

He is being charged with felony escape.  That violation carries up to 15 years of prison time.

Spartanburg officials are looking for a minimum security inmate walk-away Monday.

According to the South Carolina Department of Corrections, 26-year-old Franklin Harris escaped from Livesay Correctional Institution.

Harris is described as a black male with brown eyes, black hair, 5 feet 9 inches and 175 pounds.  He's serving time for assault with intent to kill, and now faces a felony escape charge.
