Festivus is a holiday inspired by the hit TV series “Seinfeld”.  It is a non-traditional holiday that many in the Midlands celebrated Friday night in Five Points.

                Even though the holiday is fake, Columbia businesses say the money is real, and many look forward to the shot in the arm the annual Festivus brings to their business.

Patty Rosenfeld works at Creative Kid’s Toy Shop.  She says the holiday brings life to the streets of Five Points, but it also brings people to the shops.

“There are tons of people are in the streets besides St. Patty's day this is the biggest crowd you will see all year.”

                Holiday or not, the boost to the Columbia economy is very real.
