CHAPIN, SC -- Chapin Police officers are asking for your help as they search for a bank robber.

Around 5:45 PM Friday, investigators say dispatch was notified that tellers at the Wachovia Bank on Columbia Avenue were raising hands at the window before the blinds came down.  When officers arrived at the bank, a woman stumbled out and said that the suspect had a gun pointed at the bank manager and the tellers.  The suspect then fled on foot out the back door.

The suspect is described as a white male between 5 foot 9 inches and 6 feet with a very slim build.  Witnesses say he was wearing a dark colored shirt, dark colored pants, and boots.  He fled the bank towards Clark Street.  There is a vehicle in question, described as a beige Ford Taurus with Georgia license tags.  Dogs from SLED were able to track his scent to the railroad tracks, but then they lost him.
