As gunman's life fell apart, he took others'

BINGHAMPTON, NY (AP) -- Binghamton, N.Y. is preparing to aid in funerals all over the world after Friday's killings at an immigrant assistance center.
Local authorities say they've heard from nine different governments and two foreign consulates.
Meantime, it remains unclear why a Vietnamese immigrant strapped on a bulletproof vest, barged in on a citizenship class in upstate New York and killed 13 people and himself.
However, the Binghamton police chief says he knows one thing for sure: "He must have been a coward."
Chief Joseph Zikuski says Jiverly Wong had apparently been preparing for a gun battle with police at the immigrant assistance center but changed course and decided to turn the gun on himself when he heard sirens approaching.
Zikuski says police and Wong's acquaintances portray him as an angry, troubled 41-year-old man who struggled with drugs and job loss
