WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) -- A man has pleaded guilty to killing an Easley woman found dead in Oconee County 20 years ago.

The Daily Journal and Messenger of Seneca reports 48-year-old Mark Golden pleaded guilty Thursday as part of a deal where he would be sentenced under the law in effect in 1988, when 42-year-old Daisy Snider was killed.

Golden was sentenced to life in prison, but will be eligible for parole after 20 years under the terms of the old law.

Snider's killing went unsolved for almost two decades until DNA linked Golden, who was in prison for a different killing in Pennsylvania.

Golden's South Carolina sentence will run the same time as the 15 to 30 years he is serving in Pennsylvania.

Authorities say Snider was sexually assaulted, choked and shot in the back.
