CORDOVA, SC -- Investigators are looking for 23-year-old Shane Govan of Cordova who was reportedly abducted Monday night.

Cordova is just southwest of Orangeburg. Investigators say Govan was snatched less than a mile from his home.

Witnesses saw a small gray Toyota truck drive around the area twice before hearing gunshots at Citron Road.

"They shouldn't have took him. I don't know why," says Mary Govan.

Mary is trying to figure out where her son Shane is. While clutching a photo of her son and with family by her side, she waits, hoping for good news.

"But it didn't have to take it this far and kidnap, and I don't know where he's at," says Mary.

Investigators say Shane was kidnapped on Monday.

Mary clearly remembers the night, "Someone called me at 10:30 that night. Someone told me that someone took my son."

She has always known Shane to be a person who gets along with everyone.

"He was a nice, quiet boy, nice and friendly. Get along with everything, didn't bother nobody. He didn't deserve nobody snatching him up like this," said Mary.

Mary wants her son to know she loves him.

"Let me know. Call me. Do something. Just let us know he's alright and that we love him. Just come on back home."

A difficult wait, but with hope, someone will know where Shane is.
