(AP) -- John McCain says he won't commit to supporting an additional $15 billion in funding to help U.S. automakers weather a difficult economic climate. McCain also didn't rule out the additional help Sunday in an interview on NBC TV's "Meet the Press."
He says Congress recently approved $25 billion in low-interest loans to help the auto industry build more fuel-efficient. McCain says the industry should receive the funding before adding more. McCain and Democratic rival Barack Obama have called for the loans to be expedited to help the industry retool plants and develop more fuel-efficient vehicles.
