COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Think it's possible to walk on water?  Engineers at USC's College of Engineering and Computing showed us how it can be done Thursday.

They say by adding a lot of corn starch to a big pool of liquid, you can move on top of it without falling in, if you're moving fast enough.

It's all part of National Engineers Week; a time when the college opens its doors and invites the public to learn about the engineering field.

The event included several other fun hands on activities like robot tag, soda rocket launch and rides on a Segway powered by hydrogen fuel.

"Science and engineering can be a lot of fun and for some reason a lot of people and young kids think it's boring and hard and uninteresting and that you have to be nerdy to do it, but there's really a lot of cool things about science and engineering and we want to get people excited about it," says Professor of Chemical Engineering John Weidner.
