COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The cold and rain did not stop hundreds from shaking it outside in Columbia.

University of South Carolina students filmed their own version of the viral hit song and dance Harlem Shake on the Horseshoe. Hundreds of students used several props in their dance like costumes, toilet paper, and hula-hoops.

Organizers like Rohan Patel and Danny Campbell say they have seen other groups and schools put together their own versions of the dance; so Gamecock Nation needed one as well.

"There is like six million views on one of the starting videos," Patel said. "From there it just picked up."

"We might as well do one of our own," Campbell said.  "Everyone else is doing it. Why not? We saw Clemson's video. There is a rivalry between us. So we might as well play that up."

For students who could not make it out, the group plans to hold another Harlem Shake shoot next Friday to make up for the weather.
