Lexington deputies rounding up holiday donations

Metts says all food, clothing and toys that are donated will be distributed to children and adults in Lexington County who need some help. The items will be turned over to Harvest Hope Food Bank and The Salvation Army, who will hand them out.

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) -- Deputies in Lexington County are rounding up donations to help those in need this holiday season.

Sheriff James Metts says his deputies are holding an annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive on Thursday and Friday at a Wal-Mart in Lexington.

Metts says all food, clothing and toys that are donated will be distributed to children and adults in Lexington County who need some help. The items will be turned over to Harvest Hope Food Bank and The Salvation Army, who will hand them out.
