RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH) - Authorities say one man is dead after a single car collision Monday night.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says Jerome E. Jones, 57, of Columbia was driving on Highway 21 near Blythewood when his vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees.

According to Watts, Jones was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead around midnight Tuesday.

The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
