SENECA, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say the uncle of a 7-month-old girl is charged with homicide by child abuse after the infant died at a Greenville hospital.

Oconee County deputies say paramedics were called to a home in Seneca on Sunday after Amy Stashluk stopped breathing.

The baby was revived, but Coroner Karl Addis says she died about a day later at the hospital. An autopsy has been ordered.

Deputies arrested 26-year-old McKenzie Turner on Tuesday. An arrest warrant says Turner shook and dropped the infant.

Turner is being held in the Oconee County jail. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
