RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WACH)- A bus driver for Richland School District one is off the road today after an arrest of for drunk driving on Friday October 12.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says Margaret Means, 61, was arrested for DUI after wrecking the school bus she used for transporting students to and from school by running the bus across a road into a ditch.

Means' route usually includes elementary, middle and high school students, but authorities say no children were on the bus at the time of the wreck. District officials say Means had dropped off students at a middle school and a high school just before the crash. According to an incedent report issued by the Department of Public Safety, says  Means had a blood alcohol level of .17, more than twice the legal limit of.08

There were no injuries and no children were on the bus.  She was charged with child endangerment and driving under the influence.
