CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- A judge in Conway has dismissed a lawsuit that sought to remove a Chesterfield County Republican from the November ballot.

The Morning News of Florence reported the decision by Circuit Judge Edward Cottingham on Monday will allow Richard Yow to appear on the ballot for House District 53 next month.

Cottingham dismissed the lawsuit by Albert Crowley, who accused Yow of failing to file proper election documents. More than 200 candidates were removed from the ballot earlier this year because of improperly filed paperwork.

Yow will face incumbent Democratic Rep. Ted Vick and petition candidate Phil Powell.

Yow says the lawsuit delayed his campaign's momentum, including fundraising.
