LEXINGTON, SC (WACH) - Law officers from several agencies in the Midlands came together in partnership with Krispy Kreme last week to raise money for Special Olympics South Carolina.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts says around $11,500 in donations were collected during the Cops on Top of Doughnut Shops fund raiser.

Donations were collected from customers at Krispy Kreme stores in Cayce and Lexington.

The funds will be used to help pay for athletes to compete in state and national Special Olympics competitions.
