CLOVER, S.C. (AP) -- Two lawsuits accusing some York County school district employees of covering up hazing in the Clover High School football locker room has been dropped.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports the lawsuits follow incidents last fall in which 13 varsity football players were suspended amid allegations that three players had been hazed.

York County Sheriff Bruce Bryant said after an investigation that the allegations involved what he called "horse play."

The families of two victims sued, saying the teens were bullied, beaten and hazed by older players.

The lawsuits alleged that school employees helped the attackers cover up what happened.

The lawsuits were dropped after the families' attorney, Richard Breibart of Lexington, was suspended from practicing law amid a federal investigation.

The lawsuits could be filed again.
